The New Common Core State Standards Meeting “Take A Bite Out Of The Core” was held on March 27, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at Arbor Elementary School.
In attendance were approximately fifty parents, district administrators, and staff members.
Administrators and staffers at Euclid Schools recently plunged into helping parents of students in kindergarten through fifth grade by offering an in-depth look at the new concept.
Ted Lysiak, director of curriculum and technology for the district, began the meeting last week by stating what objectives would be addressed – how expectations have changed and what they look like to students as well as providing strategies and resources for use at home.
Kristen Goerndt and Amy Rosenbaum were on hand to share typical classroom lessons geared to the Common Core and how parents can reinforce learning at home.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Bluestone Elementary at 6:30 p.m.
